£1.50 per seat = admin fee. I hope that's solved that one.
I'm catching the bus to Sunderland and back for £1.50, I decided to take advantage of this offer, because although it's not party time on the club bus it's saving me £80, and I for one see that as better than £20 off the match ticket and I think the reason they've done this is to get a few more up there on the day than would have otherwise gone.

"This away game fund is almost more trouble than it's worth"
Only because they want to muddy the waters I'm sure so the fans don't know how much they are actually spending.
The simple, fair solution would just discount the first 20,000 away tickets by £10.

Indeed, I know what the point is but that doesn't make it fair.
But then I've not come to expect fairness from the club, so won't be losing any sleep over it tonight.

Christ croe, alright let me correct it: he's shelling out for three away games within a month.
This away game fund is almost more trouble than it's worth. But the argument that the club are essentially making money out of something advertised for free is a fair enough complaint to make, even if you don't agree with where the cash is being spent.
Be better off giving your top priority points earners one away game discount a year. Be a bit of a nightmare logistically but that's the closest you're going to come to pleasing everybody.

Croe - you, I and anyone who travels away with any frequency would prefer money off the match ticket. But free travel makes it easier for more to get there, which I think (not sarcasm) is the point.

V - I honestly can't remember, but you'd think it could be a penny. That said, why not make an easy couple of grand for the Club?

I think the fact Filings is going to three aways this month, including being prepared to sit on a poxy club coach all the way to Sunderland gives him the right to be called a proper fan.
If as OTB says they can't give them away for nothing, you would think they would charge a nominal fee for the admin - a few pence perhaps.

Surely every fan benefits from reduced tickets? Knock £20 off the tickets and then people can use that money for any form of travel they wish.
A little too simple for the club I would think.

You can't please all the people all the time. I thought the cheaper tickets one was good, I think the free coaches are good.

Argh you know, the odd one or two maybe
Do you think it's fair Hermit the away day fund is used on something 99% of away season ticket holders would never use for example?

The away day fund is a sore point to be honest with me.
Would love to see the club publish just how they spend it.

Now now Croe no need for that. Yes I'd rather go by train, but it was a chance to take my boy to Sunderland and still have money for Palace and Watford.
And I agree with you free coaches is not the best use of the away fund. Much better to discount the tickets.
And my point was very much tongue in cheek

I think we should bring back BARRY TOOK from Points of View in a HOLOGRAM form.

What time did they make it to Liverpool?

Re: There's No Such Thing As A Free Coach

There's some technicality (that I don't get as I'm sure I've had 100% free stuff from the Club before) that means they can't charge £0. I don't remember what it is and I'm well aware I sound like I'm bullshitting, but there is something that means it can't be free. Not a legal thing I'm sure, presumably to do with payment systems.
And of course, West Ham aren't going to say no to money for processing tickets for other teams.
